Growing up in Brazil, I was consistently in awe of the one of a kind music, culinary genius, street festivals, and pops of bright color that surrounded me. It was impossible to not be inspired by this! Brazil is a blend of beauty that I have adapted into my own career and life to this day. My surroundings influenced my eye for design and I have been chasing that passion ever since. I have my Bachelors degree in Hospitality, which I earned in Brazil while beginning my career working in event planning at a popular resort in Salvador. My career then took a sharp turn towards an unexpected twist that led me to exactly where I am today!

I came to the US to work in the hospitality industry through an exchange program and quickly found my niche. I have always had a love for expressing my creative side, and this gave me the ability to do so. Living in New York City was the melting pot of culture, creativity, and diversity. After the tragedy of September 11th, I had to find something else to occupy my time and career until I could get back to design and hospitality. I went back to school and obtained another Bachelors degree, this time in International Business. For few years, I worked as an international banker, assisting people around the world. While this job peaked my interest and I was able to perform it successfully, I never lost that heart and eye for design. I knew that someday I’d end up back in the world of design doing what I loved most.

I knew that I could never lose that spark that was inspired by my heritage.

A few years ago, I knew I needed to follow that little voice back to the world of design. I went back to school to study interior design at the New York School of Interior Design. With this in combination with my previous experiences, I now have a pocket full of tricks that I carry alongside with me. I have successfully blended my experience with hospitality, international banking, and design into one package. I’ve created Tlina Design, LLC. I offer a professional and comprehensive range of interior design services and staging. No project is too large or too small, and I am passionate about bringing my clients’ visions to life through my work. I am also able and open to interior design in the world of hospitality and would love to help you make bring your vision to life.

My experience in the hospitality industry taught me how to provide unparalleled customer service and create an experience with the product for each and every client. Working as an international banker taught me how to really listen to peoples’ needs and wants, and how to connect with people from all over the world. Design has allowed me the opportunity to channel my diverse background and skilled eye to create interiors that my clients will adore filled with fresh interpretations of living and working environments that address each and every client’s vision and functionality.
